IGCSE Maths

IGCSE MATHEMATICS CAIE

Exams for Mathematics with Cambridge Assessment International Education  can be taken worldwide and are examined through two papers.  CAIE offer two specifications which are:

Cambridge IGCSE (A*-G) Mathematics (0580)

Cambridge IGCSE (9–1) Mathematics (0980)

Both specifications cover the same content and exams are pretty much identical, however you will just receive a grade based on whichever grading scale you prefer.

IGCSE MATHEMATICS EDEXCEL

The Edexcel Mathematics IGCSE also has two exams which can be taken worldwide.  We have one specification on offer for this qualification which is:

Edexcel IGCSE (9-1) Mathematics  A (4MA1)

Both Cambridge and Edexcel specifications are very similar and the content is too.  If you are struggling to decide which awarding body you would prefer to go with, it may be worth checking the exam centres available in your area or, take a look at our exam papers below to see if you prefer the wording of one.

EXAM PAPERS

IGCSE Exam Timetable

IGCSE EXAM TIMETABLE

It takes awarding bodies such as CAIE and Edexcel months to plan timetables for over a million learners across 160 countries.

With English and Maths being the most popular syllabuses, these exams are normally as early as possible within the exam series to allow for the large volume of papers to be marked afterwards.

The awarding organisations also consider the impacts on learners.  For example, they will try to avoid timetabling Maths and English for the same qualification on the same day, or more than one science syllabus for the same qualification.  They will also try to avoid setting papers together that would add up to more than six hours of exams a day.

With the International GCSE, learners across the world taking the same exam are in the exam or under supervision at the same time.  Therefore students can’t access or share exam material until everyone has finished.

If you are taking multiple subjects, sometimes you may find a clash with the exams.  It is important that you speak with the head of centre when booking your exams as they may need to arrange a timetable deviation which will resolve any timetable clashes.

You can check the current timetable for your subject below.  Please note that sometimes there will be changes and therefore it is good to keep a look out for any updates.  Also, the exam centre where you have your exams booked will be able to advise you further.

IGCSE Exam Centres

IGCSE EXAM CENTRES

If you are booking exams as a private candidate, you will need to look into this approximately six months prior to the exam series.  For example, if you are looking to sit your IGCSE exams in the June series, you would ideally need to have these booked by January so that you can ensure there is a place available for you at your chosen centre.

Also, if you book your exams in advance, this will avoid late deadline fees later on.

CAMBRIDGE ASSESSMENT INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION (CAIE)

Cambridge offer the majority of exam centres available all over the world.  Their list of centres is easy to navigate though and can be found here:

PEARSON EDEXCEL

Pearson Edexcel also offers exams worldwide.  Here is a link to their list:

OTHER CENTRES

Some centres on the list may say that they are not offering exams to private candidates.

Sometimes, it is worth still exploring this centre as an option as the lists on the awarding body websites is not always up to date.

BRITISH COUNCIL

If there are not many centres in your area, sometimes it is worth getting in contact with the British Council.  The British Council arranges exams for learners all over the world.  These are for numerous awarding bodies.

IGCSE

IGCSE

The IGCSE is an internationally recognised qualification which is offered to learners worldwide.

Leading Universities and Employers worldwide accept the IGCSE as evidence of academic ability.  We can offer the IGCSE with two main awarding bodies, Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) and Pearson Edexcel.

With the IGCSE, assessment takes place at the end of the course via exams.  We have exam centres situated all over the world. We also offer a large range of subjects giving learners a choice of which route they want to take.
